It was a very wet Saturday morning, but the Love Where You Live team and volunteers came out to Yaseen’s Superette in Laudium to help pot and distribute 570 Spekboom plants.
The day was filled with happy chatter as everyone got their hands dirty and learned how to care for their new plantlings. People with different levels of gardening skills got to meet each other and share some tips, while picking out the Spekboom they thought was the cutest!
We would like to thank everyone who came out to support this initiative, despite the weather! A special thanks to Yaseen’s Superette for hosting us on very short notice and setting up a beautiful space for us to work from – your kindness is a sure sign of a strong community values. May you receive abundant blessings. Also, thank you to Harry’s Printers for your generosity, for sponsoring all our printing requirements, and delivering an excellent level of service!
If you missed this event, don’t worry, we’re already planning our next event, so keep watching our pages! Please send through pictures of your Spekboom as it grows with all your love and nurturing! We would love to share your journey to encourage others to plant this carbon-reducing tree that will help alleviate the effects of global warming.
