On 8 November 2025, young dancers from Cape Town lit up the V&A Waterfront Amphitheatre with a vibrant daytime performance as part of the Kan Jy Dans (KJD) project.
Created by Cassidy Phillips, a graduate of the IAHV Youth Leadership Training Program (YLTP), KJD is an educational dance initiative supported by IAHV and powered by dedicated YLTP volunteers.
The dancers who took the stage had recently completed the YLTP, and the event gave them a practical platform to lead, perform, and showcase their talents. Through KJD, dance becomes a fun and creative way to engage students while strengthening the connection between YLTP and Breath Water Sound (BWS) programmes in schools.
The Waterfront celebration highlighted teamwork, creativity, and the transformative power of youth leadership in action — and offered a joyful afternoon of movement and inspiration for everyone who attended.
