As winter brings colder nights and difficult conditions for many people, a little warmth can make a meaningful difference.
IAHV South Africa recently donated 50 blankets to the Southern Suburbs Hindu Cultural Society (SSHCS) as part of an ongoing effort to support vulnerable members of the community and bring warmth to those facing challenging circumstances.
The blankets were distributed to beneficiaries including:
- The homeless and destitute
- Heal Better Organisation, supporting patients at Charlotte Maxeke Hospital
- Wimberley Settlements
For people without adequate shelter, those going through difficult health circumstances, and families living in vulnerable communities, a warm blanket offers more than physical comfort. It is also a simple reminder that someone cares.
Through initiatives such as these, IAHV volunteers and partners continue to support communities in practical and compassionate ways — reaching those who may need a helping hand the most.
We are grateful to the Southern Suburbs Hindu Cultural Society for helping ensure that these blankets reached people who could benefit from them.
